Frequently Asked Questions

I want to have a family member recorded that doesn't speak english, can this be done?

Yes. I can conduct the interview in the language your family member is most comfortable with if I speak that language, or I can work with an interpreter. Subtitles or translations can also be added in post production so the final video is accessible to your whole family.

There is no strict age limit. The interview style is adapted to the person being recorded. Young children, adults, and seniors can all participate at a pace and comfort level that works for them.

I use gentle, open ended questions that invite personal stories rather than one word answers. The interview is not scripted, it unfolds naturally based on the person’s life experiences, interests, and comfort level. Common themes include childhood memories, important relationships, family traditions, turning points, challenges overcome, accomplishments, and hopes for future generations. I guide the conversation at a relaxed pace and adapt the questions in real time so the stories feel authentic and meaningful. If there are specific topics you want included or avoided, we will discuss that before the session.

Most sessions take between 60 and 120 minutes depending on the individual and the depth of topics they want to explore. Additional time can be scheduled for more extensive life stories.

Absolutely. Before the session, we will discuss what areas you want to highlight or avoid. Every interview is tailored to the individual and shaped around the legacy you want to preserve.

Yes. I offer options for recording several family members either individually or together. Multi session packages are also available for capturing broader life histories or more detailed storytelling over time.

Yes. I can interview couples, siblings, or small groups together. Group interviews work well for shared stories and family memories.

You will receive a private online link that you can view and share with family members at any time. I also provide the full video on physical media, such as a USB drive, so you have a permanent copy for safekeeping. Additional copies can be made on request.
